Ye Olde Button shope
My sister was in town today so we arrange to meet up for lunch and then go shopping. She has been designing a coat and needed to buy some buttons that would match the chosen fabric. We had been told about a little shop on Swanston st and knew it was within a certain area near a subway. We arrived and headed up the stairs. The building was of the older arcade style with a labyrinth of passageways. We couldn't see the shop and headed back to the ground floor.
It was here that the trip got a bit interesting. We discussed what we were looking for whilst wandered past some of the groundfloor shops. As we passed a quaint old lift the man inside told us to try the third and second floors for the shops we were looking for. He then offered to take us to the shops. So we stepped into the lift.
The walls were decorated with photos and various artsy prints and it became clear once inside, that the man was actually the lift operator. He pulled the lever and the lift rattled and clanged it's way upwards. We shot past the third floor and had to return down. After receiving directions we finally arrived at the button shop.
